Òrekelewa: The paragon of beauty

Òrekelewa: The paragon of beauty.

Our love won't die; this is optimism
And I vow to check on your welfarism
I will accept your faults with stoicism
Because to you, there is no comparism

Òreke! I have searched the South
Before I traveled to the North
I did not find a bird like peacock
Until I found you at Babcock

I know it sounds pathetic
But I'm honestly being realistic
I know you will be ballistic
That's why I'm making my feelings poetic

Listen to my love with stethoscope
If you can't see it with microscope
I promise to take it to a wider scope
Just believe me and be full of hope

Òreke!
I want you to hug my mission
And please don't play on my emotion
As I'm ready to give you love concoction
Even at the time of tribulation

Òreke!
Everyday your love is driving me cracy
Like being in a state of plutocracy
Òrekelewa! This is not a conspiracy
But a demonstration of 'Loveyoucracy'

Can't you see your love all over my body?
Can't you see I'm dancing without a melody?
I'm captivated by your love!
Like a softly cooed dove.

Reject not my proposal
Well, I'm at your disposal
As daddy's love is doing mummy
That's how your love is doing my tummy.

DEDICATED TO ÒREKELEWA

Why Looming ASUU Strike Must Be Averted

It seems that the institutions under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will undergo another industrial action once more. Nobody knows how long this very own will take but another strike seems looming.  The strike has become a cankerworm that has eaten deep into the fabric of the Nigerian University education. Last year December, Members of the ASUU agreed to end a 9-month old strike after a resolution between the union and the federal government was reached.  Last two weeks, the President of ASUU, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, disclosed that there was every possibility to embark on another strike as the federal government had not met their demands agreed on in December 2020. Osodeke, in an interview with The PUNCH, accused the federal government of playing on lecturers. He reiterated the union's motive on opposing the use of Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). He had alleged that the use of IPPIS made it possible for some le...
