The Dying State of Nigeria

"More than 60 percent of the population is below 30, a lot of them haven’t been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria is an oil-producing country, therefore, they should sit and do nothing, and get housing, healthcare, education free............" ( A speech released by PMB last year, 2018 when he called the youth lazy and uneducated ) President Muhammad Buhari said. About a month ago after receiving criticisms on social media, he substituted his statement by signing"NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN" to surrogate and gain the youth's support.

President Muhammad Buhari has shown it to the world that he is the custodian of corruption, abode for all looters, protection of saint in disguise politicians inasmuch he is faithful to him. These are few from what PMB represents.

Flashback to 2014 when he was campaigning and feeding us with lies - One free meal (to include fruits) daily, for public primary school pupils, uninterrupted electricity among others, ban on all government officials from seeking medical care abroad, Three million Jobs per year, Eradication of state of origin, replacing that with state of residence to ensure Nigerians are Nigerians first, before anything else among others. Indeed, these were part of the lies he fed us with. Ours is to suffer; theirs is to deceive. Upon his swearing as the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, on May 29th, 2015, the excerpt from his speech reads:" I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody" possibly gave us insights about the pains, stiffness, and torment coming with his administration. At the end of his first tenure, everyone turns against him including his wife except the CABALS. Who are the cabals? They were the people who controls PMB.
In October 2016, the BBC shares the interview they had with PMB on why Aisha said the government of President Buhari has been hijacked by 'few people' who were behind the Presidential appointments. In October 2017, the clone issue came on air which almost got everyone's belief and attention -but the truth is yet to be revealed. Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has insisted that the current Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, was cloned in London. He said this backing it up with some concrete evidences. Ever since these issues came up, Nigerians have been noticing some uncommon things with the President.
Before he came to power in 2014, he promised to tackle - corruption, insecurities and take the economy to an enviable height. We were so happy when he was inaugurated just like a bride leaving for his groom house. But unfortunately, the light quenched and hopes went blank. Boko Haram still exist, looters still operate, our economy is still in bad shape. Over the years he has been ruling us, he has demonstrated himself as a ceremonial who only wields the government power. He travels with our money and yet it brings futility. He is corrupt and all his cabals from the same party. They turned their party to a sin-wiper where anyone who comes to them irrespective of how criminalize he is, he will surely be forgiven. "Once you join APC, your sins are forgiven" said by the All Progressive Congress National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole. What is the assurance given for the youth after they've served their fatherland? Are we going to live by sleeping with our certificate beside us? After telling us that our certificate can't guarantee us a job in the labor market. A president who has no certificate run for election and still won. Is an affidavit a certificate? Our judiciary is corrupt. The absolute power of the judiciary system is totally corrupt since 'power corrupts but absolute power corrupts absolutely'. A president who segregated and gave one ethnic concern at the expense of others. All the top official men in government are virtually from his tribe. Osinbajo was actually sent out in a meeting president Buhari was having with his Hausas men in a disgraceful manner to ridicule his post to nothing. All his tactics to run for presidency in 2023  have been cut-short.
Back to the lies he has fed us with, the annual inflation has tripled in the last year. We want to grow our economy and the border is closed? We want to grow our economy and it took the government months and countless days and nights to sign 30 thousand minimum wage? We want it to grow when the ministry of finance introduced VAT to give government revenue? We want it to grow when the Central bank of Nigeria introduced a new policy of deducting money from our savings? Nigerian governments, who casts us a spell? It is obvious that the suffering Nigerians have been living with has tripled in the last years the Aso rock welcomes Buhari. You want to make Nigeria a producer of Rice yet it has not circulated. The prices are too exorbitant for a common man on the street to afford. It is now a slogan within local rice sellers; we have Gidi and Bolugi Rice, 500 and 350 respectively.  To eat is a problem.
"I am calling on the government and people of goodwill to intervene to get me out of my current situation.
"I am begging you to treat me with compassion, I am calling on the government, particularly the president, to pity me and get me out of this serious situation," this was the plead Leah Sharibu made to the government. Among the 113 abducted by the Boko Haram, 107 has been released while some were reported dead remaining Leah Sharibu in captivity. He promised to deliver Leah Sharibu from the enemies' hands and since then no one has ever raised the issue. Boko Haram is just a group sponsored by some hidden cabals who dine and wine with President Muhammad Buhari. In recent times, Nigeria has witnessed an unprecedented level of security. This has made national security threat to be a major issue for the government and has prompted a huge allocation of the national budget to security. In order to ameliorate the incidence of crime, the federal government has embarked on the criminalization of terrorism bypassing the Anti-Terrorism Act in 2011, fundamental surveillance as well as investigation of criminal related offences, heightening of physical security measures around the country aimed at deterring or disrupting potential attacks, strengthening of security agencies through the provision of security facilities and the development and broadcast of security tips in mass media. Despite these efforts, the level of insecurity in the country is still high. In addition, Nigeria has consistently ranked low in the Global Peace Index maintaining 148th position out of 163 members and 3rd most terrorize global nation, signifying a worsened state of insecurity in the country.
Over $30bn was misappropriated by PMB and his cabals. Following the release by an ex-media aide to Fmr President Jonathan, Reno Omokri disclosed and narrated how the money was looted and shared. Those who make the looters list were somewhat those who were his cabals.

JOURNALISTS: ARE WE SAFE ? -The unrevealed death of Dele Giwa and other journalists.         Having been certified through a certificate, it is a license to move on a sacred path. Journalism is not a crime, we only serve as watch-dog to relay what has happened to the society fulfilling; fidelity, clarification, and intensifying to a scenario. All of these in the modern world have almost if not difficult to put into practice - rendering us as an empty barrel! It is so unfortunate that the law which establishes the practices of journalism is turned against us. They've made us forget our ethics buying us over with chicken feed.       On 16th March 1947, Sumonu Oladele Giwa was born into a poor family in Ile Ife. Their family was so poor that they couldn't get an apartment to call a room of theirs. The wretched life his parents were battling with made him attend a local primary school which is not standardized to called a school. By struggling, he arose to beat and excel aca

Sources in Journalism

Sources in Journalism -Kinds of attributional sources in news journalism Source in journalism is like a friend to journalists. They can't do without each other. Source is the backbone most media organizations and journalists rely on. Journalists get information through interviews and sources. Before the invasion of Iraq in 2003, the New York Times and most media news in the USA rely on anonymous sources for their publication. Source can be, anonymous, user-generated content, social media or inter-personal etc. Sources are the fundamental thing that distinguishes us as a journalist. It is what makes us unique from those who write opinions. Sources are essential to building trust and that's the beauty of journalism. Professional journalists always want to keep themselves away from their story and follow what sources said. Sources can fail most time and that's why it advisable to have a variety of sources. Sources add beauty, information, worth, and above all credibility to a

Why Looming ASUU Strike Must Be Averted

By Opeyemi Babalola It seems that the institutions under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will undergo another industrial action once more. Nobody knows how long this very own will take but another strike seems looming.  The strike has become a cankerworm that has eaten deep into the fabric of the Nigerian University education. Last year December, Members of the ASUU agreed to end a 9-month old strike after a resolution between the union and the federal government was reached.  Last two weeks, the President of ASUU, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, disclosed that there was every possibility to embark on another strike as the federal government had not met their demands agreed on in December 2020. Osodeke, in an interview with The PUNCH, accused the federal government of playing on lecturers. He reiterated the union's motive on opposing the use of Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). He had alleged that the use of IPPIS made it p
